Urban Forest Project

At this time of global climate change, especially in South Australia, we are really challenged to care for our environment and look at the many ways we as a College can reduce our carbon impact.

Gleeson College and Northpoint Toyota have joined forces to develop an 'Urban Forest' for future generations to enjoy, in the heart of the north-eastern suburbs.

Since 2008, Northpoint Toyota has generously donated 100 trees and shrubs to add to our Urban Forest project each year.  Year 8 students are chosen to plant a tree or shrub, and be able to watch it grow as they progress through their secondary schooling to Year 12.

Our College Principal, Mr Andrew Baker, believes the initiative is a perfect opportunity for our young students to join the challenge to save our environment:

"The Urban Forest is a wonderful opportunity for our students to contribute to the improvement of our carbon footprint in a very practical way."
